Nearly 200 Lebanon Valley College students representing academic departments across campus displayed their academic and creative work to an audience of faculty, peers, trustees, administrators, industry representatives, and friends of the College during the annual Inquiry Symposium.

More than 200 Wilkes University students who received scholarships, along with the donors whose gifts made the scholarships possible, were recognized at the annual Scholarship Luncheon on April 4.

On Monday, April 1st, K. Joy Karnas, Kassaundra Blodgett ('19), and Miranda Fetchen ('20) represented Cedar Crest College at the 2019 Da Vinci Science Center's Women in Science and Engineering Forum, designed to engage high school women in conversations about careers in science. The evening included a mentoring dinner where the high school students had the opportunity to network with college students and science professions to gain insight into their career paths and receive advice about how to persist in the science fields. Cedar Crest College was a table sponsor for the event, and Dr. Karnas is a member of Da Vinci's WISE Executive Advisory Council that oversees this and other Da Vinci WISE Initiative events.

Cedar Crest College has welcomed dozens of new members into the Alpha Sigma Lambda honor society. An induction ceremony was held on Thursday, April 11 in the Tompkins College Center on campus. Alpha Sigma Lambda is a national honor society for adult students. The goal of the organization is to recognize the achievements of adults who accomplish academic excellence while facing competing interests of home and work. To be eligible, students must meet certain academic requirements. This semester, 24 Cedar Crest College students were eligible for induction into Delta Pi, the local chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda. Twelve attended the ceremony. Alpha Sigma Lambda is the only chapter-based honor society for non-traditional students. The group aims to motivate students to achieve academic and leadership excellence while creating a network of outstanding students and faculty.

Delta Mu Delta was founded in 1913 by faculty from Harvard, Yale, and NYU to recognize exceptional students in the field of business. The Cedar Crest Lambda Chi chapter was established in 2010.

Lebanon Valley College welcomed 20 new students to its Kappa Delta Pi honor society in April, as part of the College's annual Inquiry celebration. Education students are eligible for membership in Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education.

Cultural Connections aims to provide a space for domestic and international students to share their cultural heritage and cross-cultural experience to foster global understanding and awareness. "The Light in the Dark: The 9th Annual Dance Minor Concert" will be held at Bloomsburg University on Sunday, April 28, at 3 p.m. and Monday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Carver Hall, Gross Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public. The dance concert features seven pieces, each exploring a unique perspective and theme. The content explored through varied dance styles includes: miscarriage, mental health: depression/anxiety, abusive relationships, standing proudly in your self-essence, suicide, degenerative illness and aging, and consumption/environmental concerns.

Haley Smith, a senior community-engaged art and Global Studies major with minors in Spanish, English, and Psychology, co-presented with Tatiana Diaz, Dir. Of Diversity and Inclusion at Cedar Crest College, at the Consortium on High Achievement and Success (CHAS) Women of Color Conference. During the community building project, they created a visual space where women can represent themselves and their personal identities through the use of symbols. The patterns that create the quilt have served as representations of symbolic thought and political and social agendas for women advocating for themselves and the betterment of society. From the AIDS Memorial Quilt to the Women's Temperance Movement quilts, the symbols incorporated into the quilts reflect upon both personal and collective narratives and identities and work to promote societal change.

To provide a space for students from all academic disciplines to create art in a collaborate, fun, and supportive environment, promote art-related community outreach programs and explore opportunities to engage in the studio arts locally through museum visits and other celebratory art experiences and field trips. On March 20th, Miranda Fetchen (Junior Environmental Conservation and Math double major) and Leslie Abreu (Sophomore Biology major) gave a joint talk with Dr. Allison Cornell (Assistant Professor of Biology) at Luther Crest Retirement Community on their spotted lanternfly research. The talk, entitled "Tiny Pest, Big Problem" was very well received by an audience of over 50 community members, including retired Biology Professor Dr. Marion Kayhart. Luther Crest also broadcast a video of the talk in the rooms of residents. Leslie and Miranda will continue to present the research they have completed with Dr. Cornell and the USDA at the Pennsylvania Academy of Science Conference hosted at Cedar Crest next weekend, and will be special guest speakers in Dr. Cornell's Institute for Learning and Retirement course on lanternflies in April. Congratulations to Leslie and Miranda!

The Sophomore Expedition is a guaranteed study abroad program. In the spring semester of their sophomore year, students participate in a series of classes to prepare them for the trip. Then they spend 8-10 days traveling as a class to an international destination where they participate in a number of service activites. This year they traveled to Athens, Greece.

The Lebanon Valley College Concert Choir proudly announces its 83rd annual spring tour from March 17-24. Conducted by Dr. Kyle Zeuch, the 60-member ensemble will give multiple concert performances in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.

Sixty-five CCU students volunteered at the ninth annual Women's Leadership Conference and Celebration of Inspiring Women. The event was hosted by Women in Philanthropy and Leadership for Coastal Carolina University and took place on Feb. 5, 2019.

Elizabethtown College announced the names of students whose outstanding academic performances have earned them the recognition of being included on the fall 2018 dean's list. Students on the dean's list are full-time undergraduate students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.60 or higher in 14 or more credit hours, of which at least 12 credits are letter-graded course work.

Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania awarded over 400 graduate and undergraduate degrees at its fall commencement ceremonies on Dec. 14-15, 2018.

The following students have been named to Alvernia University's Dean's List for the fall 2018 semester. To be eligible for the Dean's List, students must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better and take a minimum of 12 credits.

Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean's List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of "Incomplete", "D" or "F"; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

The Dean's List recognizes students who have earned a grade point average of 3.65 or higher in the academic semester.

Kutztown University has conferred degrees for more than 450 students for the Fall 2018 semester. Kutztown University announces degree conferment twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Commencement exercises are held in May and December; however, students finish the requirements for graduation throughout the entire year. The following students have been awarded degrees following the fall 2018 semester. The cumulative grade point average necessary for honors distinction is: with honor (cum laude) 3.40; with high honor (magna cum laude) 3.60 and with highest honor (summa cum laude) 3.80. Students listed multiple times have been awarded more than one degree. Students who have requested privacy (FERPA) are not listed publicly.
